Coaching
Outdoor Practise
Each child is expected to register prior to participation in any training session. It is also imperative that each Colt completes an Player Profile form Player Profile form and ensures all contact details are kept up to date in case of emergency.

Coaching for U15 Colts and younger, takes place on Friday evenings 6.15pm to 7.45pm.
Coaching for U17 Colts takes place on Tuesday evenings with the adults.

With about 30 matches scheduled each season some are played on Friday evenings. On these days coaching may start at a different start time or may have to be cancelled altogether.

Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time of coaching and wear a white top, jogging bottoms and trainers (or something that can be easily washed).

Coaching starts in April and continues until about the end of the school summer term. Depending on the number of managers, coaches and colts available some cricket may continue during the summer holidays.

If the weather looks threatening on a coaching evening contact your manager to avoid a wasted journey.

Equipment
cricket equipment Bats, pads, gloves and balls are supplied by the club for coaching practice and matches.  If boys bring their own kit to matches or coaching practice please make sure that it is clearly marked with their names.

Depending on the age group coaching may take place using a yellow soft ball or a red hard ball.
It is important that all children under 18 wear an abdominal protector (box) and helmet when batting or keeping wicket against a hard ball.  These inexpensive items can be bought at sports shops. Remember to mention Taplow Cricket Club as local shops, such as Extra-Time Sports in Burnham High Street, may give discounts.

We are grateful to receive donations of any unwanted kit that can be used in coaching or matches.
